Phased Treatment

Like home additions, some of the finest dentistry is done in affordable stages, according to a well thought out architectural plan.

Did you ever wish you could buy a house a room at a time? If you had safe, comfortable shelter that provided for your basic needs and it was not breaking down, you could conceivably add a room or wing at a time in a well-planned construction project. You would end up with your dream house.

In the long run, this would be better than building a series of houses that each met a different short-term goal, but never fulfilled the overall plan.

Excellent, comprehensive dental care and treatment can often be done in this very fashion. Once a stable, safe environment has been established, treatment can be done in stages to achieve health.

This phased approach to dental "reconstruction" allows you to pay for your dentistry over a number of years and still have the dentistry that is in your best interests for the long term.

When we explore your current oral condition and what can be done to restore your mouth to health, comfortable function, and beautiful appearance, the first priority is to minimize and stop any disease processes that you may have going on in your mouth. In the teeth, this means controlling decay. For the gums (the "foundation") this means controlling infection (periodontal disease). And for your bite (the way your teeth function together), this means minimizing the destructive forces that accompany clenching and grinding and affect enamel, dentin, dental bone, and jaw muscles and joints.

Periodic or chronic pain in jaw muscles and joints, headaches, cracked or worn down teeth, floppy gums and ultimately root canals are things we can avoid by treating appropriately. Once breakdown stops, we have time to carefully examine, plan and restore your chewing system and smile to optimal health, beauty and longevity. A comprehensive, long term plan means your have time to budget to accomplish what needs to be done over a period of years. We do not have to compromise on what is in your best health interest.

We also will come to know each other better and will work together better as time goes on. Great dentistry and a lifetime of oral health are achievable under this type of approach for the majority of patients. It is with great pride that I say that my patients get "finished" with restoring their mouth. After they are finished, I only get to spend time with them in the maintenance phase. I'll miss the times we had during the "renovation" but we will both get to enjoy the treasure and rewards of your dental health

Insurance

For Those Patients With Dental Insurance:

Once you provide the office with the patient information your insurance company requires, we are able to instantly submit your claims electronically and get you the most benefit your insurance contract authorizes.

In our practice, you decide which treatment is appropriate for you without interferences from outside sources such as insurance company employees or government clerks. This is an extremely important statement because patients in most dental offices have lost the privilege of deciding which course of action is best for him or herself. We feel strongly that you should determine which treatment is appropriate for you - not your insurance company. You are the only one our dental office will make a contract with when it comes to something as important as your dental health. Any dentist or dental office that signs a contract with HDS, HMSA, HDHP, or any other dental insurance company is giving that insurance company the legal right to coerce that dentist into only offering insurance company dictated dental treatment. This of course can be at the cost of the dental health of you, the patient.

You will receive payment from your insurance company for dental treatment done in our practice, despite the fact that we do not participate or contract with any dental insurance plans. The only exception to this is an HMO plan where the only way to get coverage is to go to the designated HMO dental clinic. We are happy to print out your insurance forms and we will do what we can to help you to obtain the maximum reimbursement possible from your dental insurance company.
